Position Summary:

The Sr Linux/Unix IT Engineer will be involved in the design, deployment, support and maintenance of TTM’s multi-site Corporate, Manufacturing and Oracle platforms.  This position deals specifically with hardware, operating systems, and the applications that utilize these platforms. 

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Project Leadership to ensure proper deployment, design and ownership of Linux platforms at TTM.
  • Will participate in the ongoing support, deployment, and maintenance of TTM’s Linux Systems
  • Administration and Maintenance of VMWare Virtual Environments
  • Responsible for proper notification of service impacting events including outages, performance degradation or scheduled maintenance
  • Responsible for issues escalated from Tier 1 helpdesk teams
  • Creates repeatable documentation for use by other team members
  • Participates in the server build and deployment process
  • Participates in established change management process
  • Performs software updates, backups, and system health maintenance
  • Provides after hour support for planned maintenance, perform on-call emergency support, and patching when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Expert Linux administration experience required – RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux
  • Expert level containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes is required.
  • Expert Knowledge of Linux internals, file systems, orchestration (Ansible/Salt), Active Directory Integrations and day to day management activities
  • Must have solid knowledge of standard protocols including LDAP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, NTP, etc.
  • Virtualization experience with VMware is required.  Azure/AWS a plus
  • Storage administration, Oracle ASM/ACFS as well as storage appliance (PureStorage/Nimble/Netapp/etc.) experience preferred.
  • Experience with Security and Compliance regulations, CIS, SOX, DOD, etc.
  • AI experience and knowledge with self-hosted LLMs is preferred.
  • Experience with Database Platforms, MySQL/MariaDB and Oracle
  • Experience with Windows & Linux performance tuning
  • Experience with Dell server hardware
  • Experience with monitoring systems such as OpManager, Nagios and Cacti

Position Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of experience with Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience working in a production Internet facing environment
  • Must have proven experience working in a LAMP production environment
  • Must have understanding of storage networks with protocols such as iSCSI, FC, RDM, NFS, and CIFS
