The Accounting Coordinator will support the event accounting operations of the company. Duties include maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This position fulfills an integral transactional and reporting function in the Accounts Receivable group. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager – Accounts Receivable
Manage the collection process of all hotel commissions from beginning to end:
Follow up, collection and allocation of payments
Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
Reconciliation of accounts
Monitor customer vendor details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
Maintain accounts receivable files
Communicate with vendors via phone, email, mail or personally
Calculate and track event rebates
Accurately process invoices for commissionable events
Support reconciliation of daily payment reports
Perform routine accounting tasks in a timely manner
Audit all work to ensure accuracy
Maintain all records and files in good order
You Have These
Associate degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
A foundation in Excel and ability to quickly learn new software.
Detail oriented with the ability to investigate and resolve issues
Exceptional interpersonal skills – strong planning skills, ability to work as part of a dynamic team and communicate effectively
Strong desire to learn and grow in an expanding organization
Continually strive for self-development and discovering better means of accomplishing both personal and professional goals
