Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • The selected candidate will perform technical planning, develop and decompose system requirements, verify requirements, and support technical reviews of engineering documentation. Facilitate stakeholder and peer reviews of the technical content for the Launch Support System (LSS)
  • The candidate’s responsibilities include developing and releasing requirements in DOORS, creating MBSE models in Cameo, and coordinating with design, test, and other teams
  • The selected candidate must demonstrate technical skills, strong organizational abilities, effective communication, and problem-solving skills, while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidate must exhibit a commitment to ethics and integrity, as well as a capacity for innovation. They must be able to operate effectively in a team environment and collaborate across the program to accomplish assigned tasks

Basic Qualifications: 

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).

Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD
  • 3+ years of experience with Systems Engineering principles
  • 3+ years of experience with Requirements Development

Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
  • 4+ years of experience with Systems Engineering principles
  • 4+ years of experience with Requirements Development

Required for both levels:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need​
  • 1+ years of experience with MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) principles
  • Experience using Agile workflow tools, such as JIRA and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A general understanding of Engineering Board Processes
  • Experience leading projects or assignments
  • Experience using Cameo or similar engineering modeling tools
  • Experience using DOORS or similar requirements management tools
