As part of this role, you will join Perficient’s team supporting a cloud migration project involving the transition of applications to the AWS Cloud. to join our team located in United States.

 

Job Overview:

As a Lead Technical Consultant you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients. As a member working in a team environment you will work with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.

  • Provide deep technical expertise in Apache Cassandra to support cloud migration efforts.
  • Analyze existing Cassandra deployments and recommend improvements for scalability, performance, and reliability in AWS.
  • Design and implement data replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Optimize Cassandra clusters for high availability and low latency in cloud-native environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration with AWS services.
  • Mentor and guide internal teams on Cassandra best practices and operational excellence.
  • Support containerization or re-platforming of Cassandra workloads (e.g., using Amazon EKS or ECS).
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and assist with query optimization and tuning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 8–10 years of experience in database engineering, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Apache Cassandra.
  • Strong understanding of Cassandra data modeling, replication strategies, and consistency levels.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, EBS, VPC, CloudWatch, and relevant services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation, support strategic initiatives, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations. 
  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.

Desired Skills:            

  • Experience migrating Cassandra workloads to AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes/EKS).
  • AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, Database Specialty) is a plus.
