The Position

Provide analytical support by proactively monitoring business developments and market trends, research, project coordination, and maintenance related tools and systems required by Novo Nordisk US brands. Assists in creating, refining and updating quantitative tracking models and systems, along with documented supporting assumptions. Develop communications materials including slides and reports reflecting clear and concise conclusions and recommendations for key stakeholders.

 

Proactively support Field Strategy & Insights and National Commercial Execution (NCE) teams in developing actionable insights via in-depth portfolio and brand-specific market analyses.

 

Relationships

Reports to Field Strategy and Insights Leader. Internal relationships include close interactions with cross functional colleagues in Commercial Insights & Analytics (CI&A), Execution, Sales, and Marketing. External relationships include interactions with external data partners, consultants, and market research partners.

 

Essential Functions

  • Analytics & Insight Generation
    • Proactively monitors areas of concern or opportunity for enhancements and provides recommendations/ proposals, supports relevant analysis as needed
    • Contribute to hypothesis driven investigations into detailed channel dynamics, prescriber, patient, and transactional data
    • Development and execution of presentations with clear storylines, grounded on holistic business concepts and communicate key conclusions and business recommendations/implications (what/so what and now what) to business partners and peers
    • Analytical thinker and creative problem solver, ability to influence others with verbal and written communication
    • Crafts clear narrative, uses it to develop own perspective and recommendations, even if others may disagree, and takes a stand
    • Works with Sema Analytics leaders in the development, maintenance and update of national-level business and market tracking analyses according to a defined schedule
  • Process & Data Innovation
    • Supports the development of innovative solutions to unstructured, complex problems
    • Leverages internal data systems and tools to efficiently maintain data and reporting processes to minimize manual data updates and streamline the build and accessibility of key deliverables
    • Proactively streamlines and documents processes supporting the generation of business insights and tracking reports
  • Collaboration and Development
    • Support the planning process development of market and brand-based situation analysis to identify trends, gaps and opportunities, as well as relevant identification and development of metrics (key performance indicators and leading indicators) by partnering with Sema Analytics Team, as well as other peers in Commercial Insights & Analytics and business colleagues
    • Works with Sema Analytics leaders in the development, maintenance and update of national-level business and market tracking analyses according to a defined schedule

 

Physical Requirements

10-20% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor 's degree required with focus in Business, Math, Science, or Engineering preferred
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skills required
  • MS Access or another database platform required
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • 1-year relevant experience in marketing, market research, forecasting, sales analysis, finance, pricing, or other related areas or experience/working knowledge within several areas such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, SAS, or R preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of HCP DATA/IQVIA data and/or other sec
