The Adventure Ahead:

The National Sales Director is responsible for identifying and acquiring new business accounts within the Travel Medical channel, while thinking strategically about the business to ensure new markets and new channels are penetrated effectively. Working with the VP of Sales and sales team to develop sales plans with key performance objectives and timelines to achieve sales targets, to position WorldTrips for continued growth. In addition to hitting performance targets, maintaining an extensive pipeline of opportunities, while staying on top of market trends and competitive intelligence.

  • Develop annual sales plan in support and understanding of organizational strategy, objectives, and direction
  • Achieve a high level of sales results and identify potential clients through prospecting, lead nurturing, and pipeline management
  • Align sales goals and product development with operational capabilities to ensure controlled growth
  • Lead new business development and strategic planning for the organization
  • Generate new sales leads through cold calling, attending trade shows, conferences, and other events, and building and developing relationships with senior-level client contacts and strategic partnerships
  • Prepare proposals and Requests for Proposal responses
  • Serve as a brand ambassador by communicating the value of travel insurance while monitoring industry trends and serving as thought leader in the industry
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses
  • Collaborate with internal resources in sales acquisition and profitability determination
  • Partner with the leadership team to identify opportunities for sales process improvements and new business opportunities to grow the business
  • Proactively engage prospects in thinking strategically about solutions for their business challenges that result in additional sales of products and services

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and /or experience
  • Minimum of ten years of proven sales experience, with a strong track record in prospecting, closing, growth of existing business and exceeding financial targets
  • Minimum of six years of leadership experience
  • Travel insurance experience and relationships with distribution partners in the travel medical and/or medical insurance preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with presentation abilities to engage decision-makers at all organizational levels
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

The reasonable pay range for this position is $80K to $120, subject to geographic adjustments, where applicable. The pay range is the range THMCC, in good faith, believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
