Job Description:
The CNC Turret Punch Operator is a skilled fabrication professional responsible for independently setting up, programming, and operating CNC turret punch machinery to produce precision sheet metal components. This role requires strong knowledge of blueprint interpretation, punch pattern optimization, and proper tooling selection, along with accurate tool loading, alignment, and program verification. The operator proactively identifies and resolves issues such as tooling wear, misfeeds, and material inconsistencies, performs in-process inspections, and makes necessary adjustments to maintain part quality, machine performance, and steady production flow while upholding high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

The operator proactively identifies and resolves issues such as tooling wear, misfeeds, and material inconsistencies, performs in-process inspections, and makes necessary adjustments to maintain part quality, machine performance, and steady production flow while upholding high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC turret punch machines, including program loading and retrieval, tooling selection, and material preparation
- Inspect and maintain tooling and equipment (punches, dies, forming tools), proactively diagnosing and resolving wear, misfeeds, or inefficiencies
- Perform in-process quality checks using precision measurement tools and ensure parts meet blueprint specifications
- Interpret technical drawings and optimize punch patterns for efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Work independently while coordinating with engineering, fabrication, and supervisory teams to meet production goals
- Plan and organize workflow to maintain consistent throughput, efficiency, and high-quality output
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 Years’ Experience
- Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
- Material knowledge (i.e. galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless)
- Proficient in understanding precision measuring tools such as calipers
- Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and problem solving
- Proficient in mathematics including geometry/ trigonometry
- Able to accurately estimate project schedule timelines
- Able to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, walk, squat, bend, and twist
- Able to work in extreme heat and cold environments
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience editing G-Codes
- CAM/CAD software
- Forklift operational
- Project management
