Position Overview:

The Freddie Mac Infrastructure Architecture team is seeking a Technical Lead to provide leadership and oversight associated with infrastructure architecture in partnership with engineering and operations!

Our Impact:

• Design and implement comprehensive IT infrastructure architectures that meet business requirements

• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps

• Ensure the security, compliance, and governance of infrastructure architectures

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure projects

• Conduct research and stay up-to-date on emerging trends and technologies

• Provide technical leadership and guidance

• Develop and maintain documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures

Your Impact:

• Collaborate with other Architect leads to assure that the Freddie Mac environments align with strategic vision, roadmap, principles, and guidelines and can enable software engineering teams and solution architects to deliver on business outcomes

• Define and implement Reference architecture patterns which will be leveraged by development teams

• Be a leader through transformation into Agile Architecture and align with the Modern Delivery methodology within Freddie Mac

Qualifications:
 

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required; Advanced degree preferred

• 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure Architecture for a financial services organization

• 3+ years of relevant large-scale enterprise transformation experience as relates to architecture is preferred

• Prior experience in the primary or secondary mortgage industry is desirable

• Understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

• Experience with storage systems(SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery solutions

• Deep knowledge of various enterprise level Platforms widely used in the industry

• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)

• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware)

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes)

• Tech Certifications desirable (AWS, Azure, CNCF, TOGAF, etc)

• Hands-on and architectural experience with these is required in this role, as well as, proven record of leading architects through organizational transformations

• Familiarity with AI/ML and GenAI desirable

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to succinctly present complex subject matter, specifically translating technology problems/solutions to business partners
