3M is seeking a Global Communications Coordinator for the Consumer Business Group (CBG) located in Maplewood, MN. The Consumer Business Group is reinventing the everyday to make a world of difference for its consumers and retail customers. As a Global Communications Coordinator you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
 

  • Supporting strategic communication efforts through executive communications, campaign strategy execution, and coordination of events
  • Facilitating cross-functional communication needs and initiatives, ensuring alignment and consistency across departments and enhancing the overall communication effectiveness within CBG
  • Producing high-quality content for various channels, including press releases, newsletters, social media, and internal communications, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand voice
  • Planning and executing CBG events, including product launches, employee meetings, and community engagement activities, ensuring seamless communication and promotion
  • Conducting research to understand consumer trends and preferences within the CPG industry, providing insights that inform communication strategies
  • Supporting change management efforts by crafting clear and compelling communications that guide employees through transitions, ensuring understanding and alignment with new processes and initiatives
  • Monitoring and analyzing communication campaign performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of experience in a corporate/agency communications role, preferably within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry or in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field from an accredited university
  • Master's degree in Communications, Journalism or Business from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of experience in a corporate/agency communications role, preferably within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry or in a private, public, government or military environment
  • This position requires a dynamic individual with preferred experience within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry who can effectively manage internal and external communications, support marketing initiatives, and contribute to the overall success of the 3M Consumer Business Group.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail, essential for executing comprehensive communication strategies and managing media inquiries.
  • Proficiency in digital communication platforms, including social media, content management systems, and email marketing tools, to support multi-channel communication efforts and track communication effectiveness.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, crucial for coordinating various communication initiatives and adapting to fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, aiding in the creation of engaging content and visual materials, and enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
