About This Role:
IP Network Engineer responsible for IP Network standards and optimization of Uniti’s IP/MPLS network. This Engineer also performs technical analysis, design preparation, and technical review for new implementations, upgrades, and/or services. You will be expected to assist with automation of our Network Engineering processes. You will also be responsible for providing engineering level support to Network Operations teams as it relates to potential network design improvements.
What You’ll Do:
• Execute configuration changes and software issues fixes
• Implement the IP/MPLS network covering the installations, testing & handover
• Assist in the definition and process for the handover acceptance for new implementation of devices and circuits
• Proactively perform corrective maintenance for IP/MPLS network
• Contact vendors for support and faulty equipment replacement
• Review network design, highlight issues and recommend enhancements/changes
• Produce periodic reports about the network activities, network performance and capacity
• Analyze complex network issues and provide solutions
• Author, review and evaluate all Windstream technical documents related to IP/MPLS network
• Author, review and update Windstream network documentation covering the drawings, technical documents and as-built documents
• Execute the plans of preventive maintenance tasks
• Assist in the development and execution of plans for network integration
• Develop automation and other internal systems and tools to assist in the care and feeding of the IP/MPLS network and integration activities
• Provide escalation support for complex network problems and customer issues, including on-call support
Do You Have?
• Subject Matter Expert on one or more technologies and/or vendor platforms
• Strong leadership skills on projects and in high stress scenarios
• Ability to maintain a large IP network with complex network technology
• BNG design experience in large ISP environment
• Excellent TCP/ IP networking skills
• Strong understanding of telecom networks
• Experience with MPLS technology including L2/L3 VPN and traffic engineering
• Experience with Segment Routing
• Excellent skills in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco/Juniper/Nokia routers and switches
• Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS and BGP)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Familiarity with various operating systems and server platforms is a plus
• Ability to create scripts in Python or other languages is a plus

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors’ degree in Computer/Communication/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum eleven (11) years of experience in network and telecom field
• 9-11 years professional level experience; or 11+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
The starting compensation range for this job is $105,600 to $141,300.
