Production Assistant, Folger Theatre
Home to the world’s largest Shakespeare collection, Folger Shakespeare Library is a world-class center for scholarship, learning, culture, and the arts. Folger Theatre is a not-for-profit AEA company that produces a full season of plays by Shakespeare and other world-class playwrights.
We are seeking a Production Assistant to join us as a member of the stage management team for our upcoming production season. The season includes the following productions:
Julius X, A Re-envisioning of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare

Compensation:
The PA position will run from 8/26/25-4/19/26 and pays $25/hour.
Duties:
Work with the director and Stage Management team to run the rehearsal room, including but not limited to tracking props, managing schedules, being on book, incorporating script updates, and maintaining hospitality.
Support the Stage Management team in building schedules, running paperwork, and other. organizational documents, managing the creation and upkeep of said paperwork as needed
Work to keep the rehearsal spaces and theater clean and organized.
Promote a safe and healthy work environment alongside other team members.
Assist with props maintenance during production.
During performances, serve as deck crew, dresser and supporting the backstage scenic, costume, props and company needs.
Work with XXX to provide the company with supplies for green room and backstage.
Serve as the COVID-19 Safety Officer
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will be self-starting, detail-oriented, and reliable
Strong communication skills required
Stage management and/or theater industry experience preferred
Basic understanding of backstage etiquette
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
Ability to keep up a positive attitude in the rehearsal room and backstage.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work quickly and accurately with attention to detail.
Ability to read a ground plan and tape out theatrical floor plans.
