 The Job:   

As a Senior Electrical Engineer,  you’ll be part of our Tools and Outdoor team working as a hybrid in applied technology around charging and battery management systems. Design and test prototypes for implementation in future SBD cordless products.   You’ll get to:    

• Printed circuit board (PCB) layout, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
• Analog and digital circuit design, component specification, BOM requirements
• Simulation of electronic circuits and analysis in software such as LTspice
• BMS programming and development in proof-of-concept prototypes
• Integration of battery management systems (BMS) with embedded controllers
• Interface battery packs and chargers with cycling and test equipment
• Assembly of battery packs with control modules and charger hardware
• Develop PLC, state controls, embedded systems and microcontrollers
• Matlab Simulink or similar tools for modeling and simulating battery systems
• Program battery testers for cycle life and performance studies
• Establishing standard operating procedures for new tests & processes

• Bachelor’s EE or CS degree
• 1+ years equivalent work experience
• Experience working in electrical and/or environmental testing laboratory
• Knowledge of DC and AC circuitry, electronics assembly and troubleshooting
• Use of electronic hardware like oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, soldering, etc.
• Proficiency in using simulation software modeling battery and charger systems
• PCB layout (e.g. Altium) and schematic tools such as OrCAD or similar
• Programming skills in C/C++, Assembly, Visual Basic, Python, and relevant languages
• Understanding of serial communication protocols (e.g. SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, RS232, etc.)

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $68,5000.00 - $123,500.00 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
