Job Description:
At Regions, the Commercial Government and Institutional Banking Leader directs, coordinates, and leads the sales efforts for a team of Government & Institutional (G&I) Bankers in an assigned geographic location. This leader reports to the Commercial Government and Institutional Banking Executive and targets state government, local government (cities, counties, school districts, special districts) and non-profits whose annual revenues are $20MM or greater. This role is focused on revenue growth, business model execution, sales performance, sound risk practices and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coaches G&I Bankers in team sales processes and relationship development efforts
- Sets call and sales goals, ensuring they are clearly communicated to G&I Bankers
- Provides review and feedback on sales pipeline for new and expanded business
- Supports the collection, coverage strategy, and response execution of requests for proposals
- Ensures adherence to internal policies and procedures
- Provides leadership and support to G&I Bankers while building a team-oriented culture of excellence
- Performs general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions, and terminations
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related business-oriented field
- Ten (10) years of experience in commercial banking serving GIB clients and prospects
- Prior leadership experience and demonstrated acumen developing a defined geography
- Expertise in delivering treasury management, credit solutions, and other bank products to government and institutional clients

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
