Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Communications Consultant to join our Defense and Security Segment, where they will be responsible for developing, leading, executing, and maintaining a robust communications management plan needed for internal and external stakeholders to advance government modernization initiatives. This position will support a program in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

What You Will Do:

• Lead development of professional briefings that include informative and aesthetically pleasing graphics to be received by government executives and leadership

• Provide purposeful development and use of communications to achieve designated organizational objectives. 

• Conduct research, planning, design, and development of communications and marketing programs and products that convey information to targeted audiences in the most effective ways, through the most suitable media, to contribute to achieving specific impacts and desired effects.   

• Assess communications needs, programs, and products through the effective application of interdisciplinary thinking, integrating principles and practices from the areas of communications theory, business and marketing, public relations, psychology, and organizational theory. 

• Contribute to the design and conduct of stakeholder analyses, outreach approaches, and other customer- and market-related research and interaction. 

• Prepare for publication, products whose primary purpose involves strategic communications; supports and consults on the development of other products with supporting or alternate purposes that include communications-related objectives.

• Lead development and execution of project tasks/deliverables; support the Project Manager in finalizing project tasks/ deliverables.

• Lead client meetings, develop/deliver agendas, meeting presentations, and other required documentation for customers.

• Help inform decision-making through development of executive briefing presentations, talking points, and strategic communications/ work products such as newsletters, infographics, and other related marketing materials and graphics that promote program awareness and updates.

• Support multiple, concurrent tasks, while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products.

What You Will Need:

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to receive a Public Trust clearance

• Bachelors degree

• TEN (10) or more years' professional office experience; Masters degree may be used in lieu of 2 years professional experience

• Excellent PowerPoint presentation development

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to understand the organization’s mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives, and to combine that knowledge with specialized communications-related skillsets to enhance the positioning, relevance, and effectiveness of the organization and its work. 

• Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal customers and external program or agency managers. 

• Knowledge of applicable references, style manuals, standards, specifications, and practices for the publication of written and other materials.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and quick turn deliverables

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially MS PowerPoint, and MS Word

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• CBP or DHS experience

• Masters Degree

• Proficiency in MS SharePoint

• Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships with the Guidehouse team, the customer, and their stakeholders (both internal and external)

• Experience in performing data analysis; strong analytical sills with the ability to manipulate and analyze complex data sets.
