The GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Lead Quality Specialist, is responsible for various quality activities supporting the functional quality organizations and business operations. This position reports to the Services Quality Leader and plays a critical role in the management, implementation, and development of Quality processes and systems.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
The Lead Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring processes meet established internal, regulatory, and customer standards and requirements. In this role, you will manage and develop Quality processes and systems, personnel qualification and training programs, and support Quality Assurance initiatives, including audits, surveillances, corrective action programs, and performance improvement activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and develop personnel qualification processes, programs, and procedures.
- Maintain systems and provide administrative support to personnel certification and training resources.
- Maintain and develop applications/software solutions for continued compliance and improvements including administration and deployment of software systems and applications for data/document control and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-business and cross-functional teams for process and procedure development and implementation.
- Ensure processes, programs, and procedures comply with defined quality programs, regulations, accreditation criteria, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits, including direct interaction with regulators and customers.
- Support the Quality organization with CAP (Corrective Action Program) administration and reporting.

Required Qualifications
Candidates with Bachelors Degree:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in engineering, science, business administration, or technical disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in the Commercial Nuclear Industry or Nuclear Military positions.
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Nuclear quality assurance, personnel training/qualification programs, and data and records systems administration.
Candidates with Associates Degree:
- Associates Degree from an accredited college or technical school in engineering, science, business administration, or technical disciplines.
- Minimum 7 years working experience in the Commercial Nuclear Industry or Nuclear Military positions.
- Minimum of 7 years working experience in Nuclear quality assurance, personnel training/qualification programs, and data and records systems administration.
Eligibility Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements such as NAQA-1, ASME, and ISO requirements and standards.
- Demonstrated fluency in computer applications including data/documentation applications/suites, production/procurement control systems, logic/programming, development of calculation formulas/scripts, and presentation graphics.
- Demonstrated experience in records management systems and personnel qualification, examinations, testing, and data management.
- Experience developing instruction, examination, and testing procedures based on regulations, techniques, drawings, and/or specifications.
- Practical experience with lean principles and tools; identifying opportunities for and designing changes to processes to improve performance and mitigate risks.
- Ability to pass all Nuclear site access requirements.
- Ability and willingness to complete qualification and certification as a Lead Auditor.
- Availability and willingness for periodic travel to business, customer, and supplier locations; ~20%.
Desired Characteristics
- Lead Auditor Certification.
- RCA (Root Cause Analysis) or NCA (Non-Conformance Assessment) qualification and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter possessing strong initiative, and demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills particularly technical writing, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.
