As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. You will be responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers, and hospital property by conducting regular patrols and enforcing facility policies. This position can be challenging and is very customer service-oriented, with each day bringing something new. You will be able to enhance your knowledge and skills each day, possibly leading to the opportunity to move into other roles within the security department.
A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) from 6:00AM – 6:00PM or 6:00PM – 6:00AM. Shifts and days may vary and could include weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Patrol the internal/external premises while maintaining a high degree of courtesy and good judgment in dealing with the public.
Monitor visitor conduct, ascertain legitimacy of suspected unauthorized persons, control parking and traffic flows and enforce parking regulations.
Maintain high tact and diplomacy.
Demonstrate the ability to deal with diverse social, ethnic, and religious groups.
Communicate with the public in a clear and concise manner.
Maintain a working knowledge of traffic, parking, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Provide physical restraint against those who endanger caregivers, patients, and visitors.
Provide escorts to personnel as appropriate.
Apply restraining techniques, as required, to maintain safety and order within the hospital environment.
Report on safety, security and/or fire hazards.
Recognize and make recommendations on safety violations and hazards.
