At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As a Systems Data Engineer on our Engineering Data Systems and Architecture team, you will work at the intersection of the aero, systems and data engineering disciplines. You'll be responsible for translating complex technical requirements from our internal engineering customers into robust data solutions that power foundational data and analytics tools, pipelines and platforms that ultimately allow critical decisions to be made across the New Glenn program lifecycle.

We are seeking a technically strong Systems Data Engineer who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and has the curiosity to master new domains. You'll work closely with hardware engineers, vehicle designers, test engineers, and flight operations teams to tackle one of aerospace's core challenges: building intelligent, automated systems that tame the complexity of heavy-lift vehicle configurations and flight operations while maintaining the precision required for spaceflight.

Your primary focus will be developing and maintaining systems and tools that connect our internally developed platforms with the broader New Glenn engineering ecosystem. These solutions will govern critical vehicle configuration and diagnostics data, from ensuring compliance across thousands of components to enabling real-time anomaly detection during test and flight campaigns. You'll selectively harness AI to amplify both the systems you build and the teams you support, taking on the challenge of creating intelligently engineered solutions that meet spaceflight's uncompromising standards for precision and safety.

You'll have the opportunity to deepen your aerospace domain expertise while contributing to cutting-edge space and software technology.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop reliable, scalable data solutions using Python, SQL, and modern data engineering tools, with a focus on data integrity and performance

  • Excel at distilling multi-disciplinary, highly exacting and technically complex information into actionable insights for both hands-on engineers and leadership, leveraging advanced AI and LLM technologies to continuously improve both your efficiency and the sophistication of solutions you deliver

  • Take responsibility for end-to-end delivery of data solutions, from requirements gathering through implementation and ongoing support

  • Progressively develop into a trusted technical liaison for your customer domain, building strong relationships with engineering teams, learning to speak their technical language, and developing the aerospace knowledge needed to anticipate customer needs and guide technical decisions

  • Work effectively within our high-performing team, contributing to our culture of excellence and continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, systems engineering or similar technical role

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis, integration and automation

  • Experience with SQL and data pipeline development

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in technically complex, fast-moving environments

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work across technical disciplines

  • Self-starter with ability to learn new domains quickly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks, Pandas, and modern data stack tools

  • Hands-on experience with the disciplines of systems engineering, manufacturing, or hardware engineering

  • Experience working with time-series data, sensor data, or operational data

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques

  • Previous ex
