ABOUT THIS POSITION

This position is full-time for evenings and weekends during the semester. Lecture is held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Clinical/ lab is during the day on weekends (Two weekends a month).

Faculty typically work twelve (12) hours on Wednesday and Thursday, four (4) hours Friday, and eight (8) hours every other Saturday and Sunday (days).

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

Teach the assigned classes of students according to the overall goals and objectives of the program, advancing the students’ knowledge of the subject matter.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A Master’s Degree with a major in Nursing and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse. Med Surg experience preferred. Must hold an unencumbered registered nurse license to practice in Mississippi. Must satisfy a criminal history background check, drug screen, and other clinical requirements. Teaching experience preferred.

Maintain current professional credentials and certifications as required in respective field.

Cooperate in the execution of the college, center, division, and program policies, procedures and guidelines.

Implement teaching strategies that engage learners in active learning. Utilize cutting edge technology in teaching in the classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and clinical setting.

Complete required professional development activities by designated deadlines.

Participate in other professional development activities, professional associations, presentations, publications, applied educational research, consulting, evaluations, and similar activities which enhance the individual, the health-related profession, and the education profession.
