  • Undergraduate pay: $10.00 per hour for 15 hours max per week
  • Graduate pay: $19:00 per hour for 10 hours max per week

About Longhorn Wellness Center

The Longhorn Wellness Center (LWC) is a department in the Division of Student Affairs that promotes student and campus well-being through programs, education, health messages, student engagement and collaboration.

Purpose

The LWC is hiring a student assistant to support health education and health promotion efforts. This role will focus on online health education modules, sleep and rest programming, and other general health and wellness programs for the department.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of required health and well-being online modules 
  • Consult on health and well-being customized content for online modules 
  • Email correspondence with students and campus partners 
  • Support sleep health and rest initiatives 
  • Support other LWC events and programs as needed 

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled UT student in at least 6 credit hours during the semester in which you are applying.
  • Background and/or interest in health and wellness (through education or other experiences).  
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative on starting and following up on projects. 
  • Good communication skills, practices empathy and being an active listener. 
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. 

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in working with college-aged populations.  
  • Experience or interest in health education and sleep health. 
  • Knowledge of or interest in creating health promotion programs. 

Salary Range

  • Undergraduate pay: $10.00 per hour for 15 hours max per week 
  • Graduate pay: $19.00 per hour for 10 hours max per week 

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment
  • May work outdoors at events 
  • May work outside of typical business hours 

Work Shift

  • Graduate students will work a maximum of 10 hours per week.
  • Undergraduates will work a maximum of 15 hours per week. 
  • This position will start in August 2025 and would ideally continue through the summer 2026.
  • Hours will be primarily completed onsite with some opportunities for remote work.
