Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do

The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.

- Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.

- Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.

- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).

- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.

- Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

• - Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 6 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD
• - Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• - Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Experience in Modeling Simulation and Analysis
• - 2 years of experience in scientific computer programming (MATLAB, C++, FORTRAN, Python, R, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• - Masters degree in STEM discipline
• - Excellent oral and written communication skills
• - Experience with physics-based mathematical modeling and simulation
• - Experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., C++)
• - Experience with / or interest in dynamic systems, feedback control, and estimation
• - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, etc

Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
