Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and safe processes for receiving, storage, and distribution. This position is responsible for managing a team of warehouse specialists, optimizing workflow, enforcing company policies and procedures. Success in the role will be based on Warehouse performance Indicators, including inventory accuracy, process targets and adherence to overtime procedures. Demonstrates strong leadership, fosters teamwork, drives continuous improvement, and consistently achieves operational objectives.



Responsibilities

  • Partners with functional and branch leadership to create strategic plans in support of future growth and improved efficiencies.

  • Interview, hire, train, and certify all new hires on warehouse operations policies and procedures.

  • Attend and lead Branch, organizational and cross functional daily / weekly / monthly meetings and calls.

  • Provide leadership, support, mentoring, and performance management that ensures development of a highly skilled and motivated Warehouse Operations Team.

  • Completes Quarterly and Yearly employee team performance reviews

  • Drive advancement in standard operating procedures and lead training events to standardize across all warehouse locations.

  • Perform special projects and tasks as assigned while meeting and exceeding Warehouse Operations Standards.

  • Implements best practice warehouse management design to optimize space and maximize labor productivity. 

  • Influences organizational change, manages Warehouse Efficiency and inventory accuracy improvement programs to support business growth. Performs management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.

  • Promotes a respectful work environment and continuously recruit, develop and retain a qualified, motivated and productive employee base 

  • Coordinate efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, updating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections. 

  • Makes recommendations and executes on disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.

  • Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA, etc.)

  • Achieve consensus on operating plans. Provide reports and requested information to management as needed.

  • An active and strong contributor to the management team, he/she takes the lead in highlighting, developing and executing best in class solutions for our customers.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in leadership role

  • In-depth understanding of receiving / inventory management, fulfillment warehousing work group dynamics best practices and measurement systems (metrics).

  • Experience in improving business processes via continuous process review & improvement techniques and incorporation of available systems technologies.

  • Track record in building and managing strong teams

  • Hands-on and fact-based manager that leads by example.

  • Practical thinking and long-range planning. A proactive and quick thinker who exhibits common sense and the ability to problem solve in a high-intensity environment often requiring quick corrective action.

  • Must have very strong and effective influencing skills and capable of gaining consensus.

  • Must have the ability to develop individuals and establish positive team dynamics.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft and Google Platforms

  • Hardworking, action-oriented, and results driven. Able to manage and drive multiple priorities at once.

  • Willingness to cooperate and accept added responsibilities.

  • Experience in process improvement initiatives
