PosiGen is a public benefit corporation providing solar and energy efficiency solutions for people of all income levels. We currently serve 28,000 customers in more than 10 states. We are seeking a Senior Director, Community Impact (CI) to foster relationships with community-based organizations and local governments to build trust with the communities we serve.  This position will be responsible for managing the Community Impact team, drafting Community Impact reports, and implementing federal Community Benefit Agreements and Plans.

This is a remote position with frequent travel to Corporate HQ in New Orleans, LA with a focus on the Northeast and other locations throughout PosiGen’s service area.

Essential Job Functions    

  • Develop and implement a campaign performance minded CI strategy to service existing states and planning for further expansion. CI strategy includes: staffing, measurement and integration aligned to PosiGen business objectives.
  • Build and manage the Community Impact Team, its budget, invoicing, oversee internal impact initiatives including Hero Homes, Solar for All City Campaigns, Solarize Philly partnership, ASAP Rhode Island etc
  • Provide professional leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of components of Community Benefit Plans
  • Tracks and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders, including businesses, government, non-profits, places of worship, community organizations etc
  • Develop and manage the strategy and planning of community engagement, community partnership events, press conferences with City Mayors, and significant special events for the company
  • Provides oversight and leadership for processes and procedures related to special community initiatives or collaborative, community projects.
  • Analyze event performance and prepare metrics on attendance and additional impact metrics determined in a national market strategy
  • Ensure that community partnership contacts are properly entered and tracked in our CRM and business tools, and that referrals are promptly paid out when appropriate 

                    
Education/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required in social work, nonprofit management, public policy, or related field
  • Experience with federal Community Benefit Plans and Agreements is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience in successful community outreach and engagement
  • Training in cultural competency; an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles and practices and a commitment to incorporating them into internal and external work
  • Has a proven track record for actively fostering solid, trusted partnerships with community leaders, nonprofits, government agencies and investors
  • Strong public speaking and written communication skills, including giving presentations and writing and editing reports, memos, etc.
  • Excellent leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and collaborative problem solving skills
  • Advanced project and quality management skills; demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous workstreams and meet deadlines
  • Personal and professional integrity, good judgment, curiosity, and humility
  • Strong internal and external customer service ethic
  • Experience in leading, building and guiding a strong team of committed contributors; a player/coach who leads by example
  • The professional acumen to interact with leadership, investors, elected officials, members of the media, but also the natural ability to connect comfortably regardless of an individual’s circumstance or background
  • Ability to convey complex information in ways that are accessible to varying audiences; comfort being a spokesperson to the community
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
