Job Description
Working in the Back Office Trading EU and US, Exchanges and Collateral Management team:
The Back Office Europe & US is the process engine for all commercial transactions. We are responsible for validation of the transactions, clearing and collaterals, contract settlements, billing, accruing, revenue accounting operations and EU regulatory reporting for all trading and most origination transaction across Europe. In a quick and changing environment we are building the bridge between our commercial departments and Finance units.
The Exchange & Collateral Management unit within Back Office is responsible for the processing of all exchange and collateral management related deals from deal validation to the payment process. An end-to-end understanding and professional centre of competence of these functional areas in the Back Office processes must be ensured.
The department manages an adequate interface towards Statkraft’s Clearing Banks, Clearing Houses and Power exchanges as well as internal stakeholders in operational aspects.
Our entities operate around 25 power exchanges and soon more to come. The team covers processes and tasks for different Statkraft entities and locations.
The position reports to the Manager Exchanges and Collateral Management based in Düsseldorf.
As Specialist Exchange and Collateral Management, Accounting Operations, you will:
- Ensure robust and quality assured processes in accounting operations within Exchanges and Collateral management team
- Perform month-end closing process and ensure correct and timely input according to given deadlines
- Provide input to auditors for clearing and trading activities
- Perform and follow-up internal controls
- Establish and apply a good understanding of the components of a trade deal and the implications on invoices, PnL analysis, SAP booking on GL and profit centre level, accrual posting
- Cooperate with stakeholders across different departments
- Implement improvements and new requirements related to accounting operations for Exchanges and Collateral management team
- Maintain and create user documentation for routines, processes, and tools
Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or similar
- First relevant work experience in a company with international exposure
- Previous professional work experience with relevant industry knowledge is an advantage
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting and P&L reporting
- Excellent IT skills, especially MS Excel
- Excellent SAP (S4 Hana) FI, SAP BW skills
- Analytical, structured and accurate way of working with strong analytical and numerical skills
- A good team player with excellent cooperation and communication skills and the ability to build relations across the organisation
- Fluent in English, other languages are an advantage
