About the role
Primary responsibilities of this position will be loan administration, portfolio management and basic assistance in credit underwriting for Commercial Banking. This individual must possess the technical skills needed to assist in underwriting, documentation and administration of a commercial loan portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and coordinate spreading of financial statements for existing and potential new clients and/or supervise one or more financial analysts doing the same.
- Develop and maintain client/portfolio trend reports.
- Assist with the preparation and/or review of litmus presentations, loan committee presentations, annual credit reviews and problem loan summaries.
- Assist with required due diligence prior to loan closing.
- Analyze interim financial statements of existing clients.
- Assist in administration of nonperforming loans.
- Maintain reporting infrastructure designed to manage risk in this division.
- Support key strategic relationships inside and outside of Bell Bank.
- Work closely with the Team Leader to establish and negotiate, where necessary, terms under which the credit could be structured, including the costs, repayment methods and collateral requirements.
- Monitor the credit facility once it is booked, including an assessment of interim financial information, and any other pertinent supporting documentation.
- Provide unequaled customer service to commercial deposit and loan customers.
- Provide guidance and training to Commercial Loan Coordinator as needed.
- Serve as backup in the oversight of daily overdrafts and any subsequent collection.
- Understand and adhere to the Bell Bank lending guidelines.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations:
- B.A. in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
- Minimum three years of prior experience in credit, lending, or commercial banking.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of loan documentation.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer technology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
