Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Physician (Assistant Professor)

Summary

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a physician at the Assistant Professor rank to serve in the section of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). The work location will be at the Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) Pavilion for Women. 

Job Duties

• Supervise and mentor fellows and Ob-Gyn residents in the REI research lab in related studies and research projects.
• Design, organize, budget, and conduct testing using PCR, DNA sequencing, ELISA, and other techniques in the REI, as well as in other Baylor and TCH research laboratories.
• Coordinate and submit IRB projects pertaining to the research conducted in the REI research lab, as well as in other Baylor and TCH research laboratories.
• Coauthor manuscript proposals on genetic analysis of embryonal spent media, oocyte maturation, and oocyte genetics after exposure to chemotherapy.
• Perform appropriate statistical analysis for manuscripts as well as other research projects. Develop custom analysis and visualization software and implement common pipelines.
• Create and perform detailed comparisons of model specifications for different variables and implement novel experimental systems.
• Present data in both poster and oral formats at scientific conferences. Dr. Sharif has experience in giving talks at international conferences.
• Create presentations using advanced visualization techniques.
• Coordinate and implement database construction using Excel, Redcap, and SPSS.
• Utilize SPSS statistical system to interpret data and identify relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

• M.D. or PhD. degree
