JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Strategic Services Associate to support the excellence and innovation of the Duke Radiology department by managing a variety of strategic, financial, and analytical projects and priorities. Under the guidance of the Senior Practice Management and Finance Analyst, and in collaboration with the Strategic Operations and Analytics Team, the Strategic Services Associate oversees many vital projects and programs in the areas of Radiology budget and finance, strategic operations planning, revenue cycle & compliance, data management, and analytics.
Duke Radiology has experienced significant growth in the last 3 years in terms of the number of providers, locations, and exam volumes. Along with managing new opportunities and best practices to support this growth, the recent DHIP organizational transition has highlighted the need for new resources to bring focus on initiatives that collectively support our teaching, research and clinical care missions.
The Radiology Department at Duke is a cohesive group of physicians and staff whose mission is to bring high quality efficient imaging services to Duke’s patients in the Triangle. The department is proud of its positive work culture, in which every team member is valued and engaged.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management:
- Responsibilities
- Apply specialized and technical knowledge in the implementation and execution of planned programs for Duke Radiology.
- Develop and manage project plans, including key milestones, progress tracking and benefits realization.
- Prepare reports and deliverables for internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, cost-benefit analysis, ROI tracking, and data analysis.
- Provide on-going maintenance and optimization planning for EPIC radiology orderables (Radiant) that impact clinical workflow, revenue and compliance. Prepare and submit Radiant Smartsheet and Service Now build requests.
- Co-Lead optimization efforts for the department’s third-party documentation system used across 9 subspecialty divisions and for thousands of procedures. Collaborate with management team, as well as key physician and coding stakeholders, to identify gaps and implement recommended updates.
- Provide project management support for other relevant IT system upgrades & conversions. Attend multidisciplinary planning meetings and assist with go-live functions.
- Participate in high-profile strategic operations projects such as Teleradiology expansion, Ambulatory Imaging site expansion, and Imaging Service Line expansion.
- Execute new provider on-boarding tasks in the areas of enrollment & provider record maintenance.
Business Analytics:

- Utilize analytical techniques to review and interpret data related to finance, clinical activity, and revenue.
- Provide support to management team in making informed decisions by presenting clear and concise findings.
- Generate and distribute standard & ad-hoc financial, clinical, and GME activity reports.
