Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Software Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to design strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leads a project team in the application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts.
Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas and makes significant contributions to department goals and planning efforts.
Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.
Works under consultative direction toward predetermining long-range targets.
Provides advice and counsel to the organization in area of expertise.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Key Relationships:
Supervision Received - PM, Technical Director and above.
Supervision Given - Project/Program Team.
Internal Contacts - PM, Managers, and Individual Contributors.
External Contact - Customers, Prime Contractor.
Skills and Competencies
Ability to define the DCO strategy in support of US CYBERCOM.
Documented success in defining and leading projects or programs greater than themselves with experience in both task leadership and management.
Experience (architectural and/or hands-on) with one or more commercial cloud offerings (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc).
Practical application of release, sprint planning, and backlog management with related agile tools (e.g., VersionOne, JIRA).
Fluent in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Java, C++ or C#).
Candidate understands full software development life cycle and is fully responsible for delivery – including definition, completion, and technical quality
Ability to lead a project team.
Ability to troubleshoot production issues, under pressure and/or deadlines
Proficient in developing software in one or more operating systems environment (Windows, Linux, etc).
Translated customer objectives into system requirements.
Ability to apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 15 years of work-related experience.
A Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of work-related experience.
