Position Summary:
The role of Inpatient Coordinator Supervisor to evaluate the non-clinical tasks related to the Inpatient Care Management Program so that is functions in a smooth and efficient manner and to assist the Administrative Inpatient Manager as needed. The Inpatient Coordinator Supervisor will assist the leadership with mentoring, training and oversight of the performance of staff duties as requested. The position is responsible for auditing and providing oversight and training as identified for the inpatient coordinators to ensure compliance with Utilization Management policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Additionally, at the direction of the Administrative Inpatient Manager, the position at times may be responsible for leading and coordinating projects initiated in Medical Management and/or acting as a representative of Medical Management for interdepartmental projects related to role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Understand, promote and audit the principles of UM to facilitate the right care at the right time in the right setting.
- Supervise Inpatient Coordinators and monitor productivity/performance.
- Manage the daily pre-authorization management of Medical Management (Inpatient) department by supervising and standardizing all utilization management.
- Identify trends or issues in the MM process by understanding those that require further evaluation for their quality or utilization implications and bring these items to the attention of the Administrative Manager and Regional Medical Director.
- Communicate effectively and interact with the provider group, staff and health plans daily or as indicated regarding MM and referral authorization issues.
- Implement newly adopted processes amongst the inpatient coordinators.
- Initial implementation of training of inpatient coordinators and ongoing mentoring on a day to day basis.
- Effectively manage the volume of incoming work by assessing the current process and formulating strategies to handle high volume situations and reporting this information to Administrative Manager.
- Verify that any new process is communicated to Inpatient coordinators/staff.
- Implements and role models the appropriate customer service behaviors for Inpatient coordinators.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to management, co-workers, and physicians.
- Mange timekeeping for all inpatient staff.
- Assumes other responsibilities as determined.
- All other duties as directed by management.

- Employee has completed all required annual Compliance training and signed attestation form is attached for each module.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $70,304/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
