The Account Manager (Field Services) - Eastern Region position promotes the sales of Services to new customers as well as retaining and growing business with existing accounts. The position requires the ability to make an individual contribution to the growth of Econolite Services across an assigned geographic territory.
The successful candidate will be responsible for business development activities to secure new Traffic Signal/ITS maintenance contracts. The individual will also be responsible for managing key accounts within the region and expanding the market within the designated territory. The candidate will be responsible for being the primary point-of-contact, from the field on all maintenance contract and project pursuits within the region; they will assist with the formation of project teams, analyze requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), generate proposals, estimate project scopes, and provide product management support.
DUTIES:
- Drive new business development for Traffic Signals/ITS construction/Maintenance contracts, including opportunity identification, qualification, bid/proposal development, and capture CRM pipeline management and KPI development.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of all Econolite products and services including transportation management systems, traffic controllers, detection, traffic cabinets and communications.
- Review RFPs, RFIs and other requests for information, relative to department.
- Generate proposals and presentations for sales opportunities.
- Serve as a project management resource.
- Regularly meet with Agencies and consultants in geographic area to discuss their future ITS Maintenance plans.
- Facilitate the procurement and installation of field ITS equipment.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local engineering consulting firms and contractor firms.
- Develop a clear and concise understanding of how each department within an agency operates (Traffic Engineer, Public Works, and Traffic Signal Maintenance, Transportation Management, Manager and Purchasing.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree in Construction Management/Engineering or at least 5 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience could include, project estimating, field work (traffic signal / ITS construction and maintenance), knowledge of ITS related projects or ITS field work, engineering or project management.
- 5 years plus experience in Engineering/ Account Management role.
- Strong communication skills and must be comfortable in all audience settings.
- Ability to locate, obtain, read and understand design plans and project specifications to develop cost estimates or competitive bids.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong social skills and the ability to cultivate and foster relationships at all levels.
- Government sales experience a plus.
BUSINESS TRAVEL:
- Moderate business travel is required on an average of 25% when and as needed.
