What you'll do

As a software development student in our Strategic Frontrunner Projects Team, you will support the implementation innovative and strategic projects that come directly from SAP’s senior executives. You will be part of a collaborative and technology-focused team that builds cutting-edge solutions to help shape the future generations of SAP software. Under the mentorship of experienced development colleagues, you will have the chance to engage in tasks that span from requirements engineering, software design, implementation, testing, to deployment.

In addition to that, you will have the opportunity to directly work with an agile team also containing fellow students with a tech and design background to bring creative ideas together and jointly ship applications to end users.    

We are looking for a software engineering student with a broad understanding of the software development process. You should be able to join a software development project at every stage in the process to craft what is needed to deliver a great experience to our end users.  

What you bring

 

• Student (f/m/d) at a university of applied sciences in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field  
• Language skills: Fluent in German or English (written and spoken) 

 

Computer skills:  

 

• Solid foundational knowledge in computer science and software engineering methodology   
• Experience in source code management (e.g., git) 
• Knowledge in state-of-the-art web or mobile technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, xCode, Android Studio,…)
• Experience in Frontend and / or Backend Development  ( e.g.,TypeScript, Python, Rust, Go, Swift, Kotlin…) 
• Experience in AI is a plus 

 

Soft skills: 

 

• Eager to learn about new technologies    
• Hands-on, reliable and open-minded mentality  
• Strong team working skills , fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment   
• Determined to reach a goal in time, to work independently and to prioritize tasks  
• Work Experience: This position is entry level. It’s a great opportunity for any motivated development student who wishes to gain practical development experiences.

At Strategic Projects we are driving forward SAP’s development excellence by implementing cutting-edge and strategic-relevant solutions. In addition, we provide expertise with tech evaluations and develop proof-of-concepts for strategic technology topics. Our team consists of about 60 colleagues who are students, young professionals, and experienced professionals in the areas of software development, design, project management and team/management assistance. We work in teams that are mainly located in Potsdam/Berlin and Walldorf and collaborate closely with other SAP teams to realize our mission.
