SPECIAL NOTES:

Highschool Diploma or its equivalent and four (4) years of relevant work experience in the area of accounting, finance, economics, or risk management is required. An associate degree and two (2) years of relevant work experience Or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, or Accounting may be used as an alternative for the years of required experience.

 

Additional requirements:

  • One (1) year experience conducting audits or examinations of financial documents.
  •  Ability to follow directions and complete task(s) as assigned in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to operate a computer and are knowledgeable in the use of various spreadsheets and word processing.

 

Overtime and weekend work may be required.

 

Occasional overnight travel is often required. 

 

Must be willing to travel 75%-100% of your job.

 

A valid driver’s license is required. 

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

Minimum Annual salary is $37,264.08 and Maximum Annual salary is $82,876.08.

 

Starting salary is expected to be at or near the minimum base range, commensurate with experience.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of basic accounting or auditing principles; Knowledge of the methods of compiling, analyzing, and presenting data; Knowledge of monitoring techniques; Knowledge of basic mathematics; Knowledge of Chapter 497; Ability to review, analyze and evaluate data; Ability to examine financial records; Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Ability to conduct research and prepare reports; Ability to probe and obtain critical facts; Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Ability to recognize the validity, authenticity and propriety of accounting and operating records; Ability to work independently

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 If applicable, (Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.)
