Job Description Summary

Our lab has been a leader in developing new approaches to cancer therapy. We have identified new drug candidates and a new molecular target for cancer therapy. Our laboratory research is closely linked to clinical trials in cancer patients. We are looking for a Research Specialist to work on laboratory studies focused on targeting driver mutations with novel RNA therapeutics and stress responses such as autophagy in cancer. Prior research experience is required. The successful candidate will have 3-4 years prior experience in a research laboratory setting. The goals of the project are to use mouse models and molecular biology techniques to determine if inhibiting driver mutations, or lipid metabolism will enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy and targeted therapy in melanoma and other cancers. Therefore, a background in immunology, including flow cytometry expertise would highly valued. The successful candidate will work along side post-doctoral fellows, and a lab manager but will report directly to the PI.

Job Responsibilities

  • Cancer Cell Culture
  • Western blotting, flow cytometry, rna sequencing  
  • Mouse tumor growth and treatment  
  • General laboratory maintainance
  • Design and carry out experiments independently
  • Maintain general supplies for the lab
  • Carry out trouble-shooting on experiments
  • Write sections of manuscripts and progress reports describing research results
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Maintain records of experiments
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
