The Job:
As a CFO, Global Supply Chain (GSC), you’ll be part of our Finance and Global Supply Chain teams working as a hybrid employee. You will report directly to the Global Chief Supply Chain Officer functionally with matrixed reporting into the Chief Financial Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for all financial leadership elements of Global Supply Chain including strategic planning, , M&A and investment analysis, annual financial planning, performance management, controllership and organizational development. Leading GSC finance is a critical role with tremendous responsibility to serve the greater Stanley Black and Decker (SBD) organization and shareholders.
You’ll get to:
- Partner with the Executive Committee, the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team, Commercial Business Units (BUs), and the broader Finance function to develop and execute strategies to accelerate value creation. While the role is primarily responsible for optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of SBD’s GSC (relative to that of competitors), it is also responsible for tuning and evolving the GSC’s capabilities to accelerate sustainable market share gains in coordination with BUs (i.e., advance customer service, new product development, etc.)
- Lead the global finance team supporting SBD’s GSC, a team numbering over 300 and consisting of a broad range of corporate/central and plant & distribution center roles located across the globe; provide critical control of all the strategic and day-to-day aspects of finance and risk management for the GSC organization
- Advance the GSC finance organization’s structure, talent, capabilities, and efficiency – ensuring the talent and capability is in place for SBD to compete for market share and deliver above average profits, returns, and cash generation
- Lead, quality assure, and improve the efficiency of strategic planning, annual financial planning, M&A analyses, investment analyses, forecasting, reporting, and any other analytics required to execute strategic priorities, allocate resources or optimize the capability & efficiency of SBD’s GSC, in coordination with SBD Corporate as required
- Proactively work to assure or advance the alignment of objectives and incentives across the enterprise, especially across commercial BUs and the GSC team
- Build and leverage effective relationships within the entire SBD organization and outside organizations that contribute to the advancement of the GSC team mission.
- Access, hire, retain, and mentor financial talent and develop a human capital plan within the financial organization that is in line with SBD’s and GSC’s strategic plan for growth
The Person:

- 15-20+ years’ progressive finance experience. 5 plus years as BU/divisional or operational/GSC CFO – in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Major career time spent in or around organizations that are focused on transformative, disruptive and exponential growth; experience working in a digital, technology and/or innovation-driven environment
- Strong understanding, insight, and sense of passion for the Company’s objectives; thrives on change, pace, action, and accountability; constructive change agent and value creator
- BS required; MBA preferred; quantitative, economic, and/or scientific education preferred
- Well-developed CFO/VP Finance competencies, as well as Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain Management experience.
- Proven track record of building, leading and managing global teams
- High level of personal integrity, ethics, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills, confident and energetic persona and a highly effective communicator
- Change leadership; hands-on; “roll up the sleeves and get it done” mentality
- The ability to consult and advise business leaders and managers on a range of issues, with specific competency on corporate financial matters
