Registered Nurse - Levine Children's Hospital Pre Screen Clinic PT Days

LCH 5 - PreScreen Clinic: Prescreen clinic conducts phone call assessments for pediatric patients having procedures under anesthesia. The nurses work closely with the anesthesiologists to ensure thorough screening is conducted and safety concerns are addressed prior to the day of surgery. This area has a significant role in coordination of care among specialists for medically and/or socially complex pediatric patients, which requires excellent investigative and critical thinking skills. In addition, Prescreen clinic makes appointments and sees pediatric patients in person who are having complex medical procedures who need labs and other diagnostic testing prior to the day of surgery. The typical hours of operation are 0800 - 1800 Monday through Friday. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience or direct experience with preanesthesia screening. This position is not for new graduates.

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
