Meet Our Leadership TeamSenior Staff Accountant
The Senior Staff Accountant is a key member of the Accounting and Finance team that reports to the Assistant Controller. The primary responsibility of the position is to maintain and analyze the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that include analytical work and thorough review of financial records. This position will provide key information across three entities to various teams, both in and outside of finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting at a minimum.
- Certified public accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years directly related accounting experience, project/job cost and revenue recognition is a plus.
- Must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through
- Must be highly organized and able to perform tasks with high degree of accuracy, efficiency, transparency, timeliness, and accountability.
- Progressively responsible accounting experience and strong technical accounting skills (GAAP)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills are a must.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred
- Experience with Acumatica accounting software preferred
