The Senior Technical Training Specialist assesses the department technical training needs, sources and/or develops the training curriculum, facilitates training, and manages the tracking of employee training. The incumbent evaluates the effectiveness of training and makes modifications to the program as needed.
- Utilize a job task analysis and identify training skills needs for all personnel in their operational area in order to develop and establish training programs to match the level for each operator/technician.
- Develop/prioritize training needs and determine requirements to ensure appropriate technical, compliance, safety, and/or current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) training is administered.
- Drive the process of identification of training deficiencies within the department.
- Develop appropriate training programs-based skills assessment results.
- Manage training matrices for operational area.
- Lead the development of training plans for new products or significant process changes, including development of significant new skills, such as DCS operation.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs that blend technical content and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate departmental training (such as shutdown training) utilizing appropriate resources, negotiating contracts, scheduling training facilities and completing paperwork.
- Development of innovative training techniques will be required in order to address the broad variety of technical issues and skill levels.
- Establish continuous improvement process on all training materials to remain current with all updates to applicable regulatory requirements and revised SOP requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in a FDA regulated industry including a minimum of 3 years of experience in training adult learners preferably in a production environment, education or related area or a combination of relevant work experience.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and present short- and long-range technical training plans along with resource requirements and cost estimates to be used in the annual budgeting process.
As appropriate, source internal and contract personnel to provide technical training and/or materials. Evaluate performance and effectiveness of teaching personnel, instructional delivery methods, content, and attendee response. Ensure revisions to training are made as identified. Coordinate the training of revisions of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the department. Participate on PD teams (Department PHA Lead). Collaborate with Performance Development to benchmarks training programs within the industry. May supervise or mentor other technical training specialists.
