Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma, the Maintenance Electrician Technician 2 is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical supply, distribution systems up to 4160V, motors, motor controls, VFDs, backup generators, UPSs, instrumentation, PLCs, and DCSs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance activities including troubleshooting, repair, and preventative and predictive maintenance to increase equipment reliability to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable equipment operation
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in the engineering, operation, and maintenance stages of the equipment lifecycle
• Develop and manage maintenance plans to help eliminate equipment failures and increase overall reliability
• Oversee outside contractors and other technicians to support electrical equipment
• Manage the technical documentation on equipment throughout all lifecycle stages, including equipment design basis, technical drawings, and maintenance procedures
• Mentor, coach, and oversee other electrical technicians to advance their development
• Document work performed on equipment in both electronic and written form and comply with code and quality requirements, including NFPA and Good Documentation Practices
• Provide assistance during utility outage emergencies
• Utilize SAP for work management
• This position may include weekend and holiday on call and after-hours duty on a variety of all shifts

• Use feet to operate equipment
• Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear
• Use hands to operate tools and equipment
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and additional weight with assistance
• Utilize close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
• Wear a hard hat, safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, a safety harness, protective clothing and gloves, respirator, and face shield
• Work at varying heights

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience as an electrician
• Valid driver's license

OR

• Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. trade school, Associate Degree, etc.) in Industrial Maintenance, Automation and Controls, or other technical discipline
• 2+ years as an electrician
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previously or currently a holder of a St. Louis City Industrial-maintenance license or Electrical contractor's license
• Experience with data centers, backup generators, and UPS systems
• Experience with electrical systems in intrinsically safe (Class 1 Div 1) areas
• Experience generating and maintaining electrical drawings
