Job Title: Expert DevOps Engineer 

Location: Newtown Square, PA

Purpose and Objective:   

SAP America, Inc. seeks an Expert DevOps Engineer at our Newtown Square, PA location to support the operations of a complete IaaS platform on a global scale, take care of daily operations to keep SAP customers running with prime focus on key KPI of Uptime and Availability. 

 

Expectations and Tasks:  

Work as part of an agile DevOps Scrum team to drive assigned development, automation and operations topics in defined sprints. Responsible for implementation of infrastructure related changes, collection of customer issues and requirements, grouping and prioritizing them, and collaborating with the cloud platform development and architecture teams to develop viable solutions for the customer. Follow IT Change, Incident, Problem and Escalation management processes during day-to-day operations of the Cloud. Drive continuous improvement and enhancements for the cloud platform and lead the operations teams for critical projects of Build, Upgrade and Decommissioning of Cloud Infrastructure. 

 

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Experience must involve three (3) years in the following:  

• Openstack; 

• Ansible and Python Automation; 

• VMware, EMC, NetApp and Cisco regarding virtual infrastructure and Cloud offerings; 

• 3rd Level expert cloud operations support in Cloud infrastructure environments including compute, network, and storage;  

• Deliver third level cloud operations support; 

• Virtualization and infrastructure technology, including Linux; and 

• Technical and business experience.
