Role Profile

Procures and maintains adequate inventories of quality material for maintenance and general plant use in the most cost efficient manner possible for the company.  Performs the following types of duties:  inventory information analysis and problem solving; procurement of and management of indirect materials; and be a productive member of partnership teams with Procurement, Suppliers and in-plant customers.  Extensive work in SAP and other desktop applications for material management, communication and reporting.

Responsibilities

 

  • Requisition material to meet stocking needs
    • Review and approve MRP requisitions
    • Create urgent requisitions as needed
  • Maintain material master data
    • Update MRP data as needed
    • Process stock authorization requests for GMN creations, deletions, and changes
  • Inventory control
    • Follow all department processes to meet audit requirements
    • Monitor and maintain cost effective stocking levels to meet customers’ needs
      • Use of company guidelines to determine optimum stocking levels
      • Review usage, adjust stocking levels as needed
  • In-bin /receipt process as needed
    • Process in-bins in SAP
    • Restock material in assigned locations
  • As well as all other duties assigned 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required and a Bachelor's degree is a plus
  • Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to walk, stand, and sit
    • Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Mental Requirements
    • Must be able to routinely apply knowledge, team and problem solving techniques in decision-making
    • Must be able to work harmoniously in a team environment
    • Must be able to interact cooperatively and constructively with customers, supervision, and co-workers
  • Safety Requirements
    • Must understand and follow all applicable, safety requirements and expectations
    • Must be able to wear required PPE when passing through and working in manufacturing areas
    • Must be able to hear, comprehend, and obey instructions related to safety rules and practices
