The person in this position will help protect the public by directing families, law enforcement, schools, other agencies, and the general public to appropriate Departmental personnel and services; producing oral and written communication which facilitates the mission of the Department through organized recordkeeping and data entry; supporting the effort of the officers of the agency through proper appointment and office management; and ensures quality clerical support/services to the staff of this agency through policies and procedures required by the Department, Unit, State, and/or Judicial requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, selected candidates must possess the following:
• Working knowledge of office practices and procedures
• Knowledge of manual and automated filing systems
• Experience typing correspondence and transcribing
• Knowledge of Microsoft office software to include Word and Excel
• Experience operating a multi-line telephone system
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of staff
• Ability to organize work and make independent work processing decisions

Additional Considerations

Additional considerations include the following:
• Experience in an administrative support position
• Experience using MS Word
