Friendship Public Charter School operates a dynamic network of college-preparatory charter schools headquartered in Washington, DC. We proudly serve more than 4,800 preschool through 12th-grade students and support a growing network of alumni as they complete college. Our mission is to provide students with a world-class education that fosters ethical, literate, well-rounded, and self-sufficient individuals. The Director of Early College will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and daily operations of the Early College program. The Director will ensure high-quality delivery of college-level coursework to high school students, foster strong partnerships with higher education institutions, and promote student success through comprehensive academic and social supports.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Development:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Early College program, aligned with FCA's mission and academic goals.
  • Oversee program operations, including course selection, scheduling, enrollment, and assessment.
  • Coordinate with college partners to align curriculum standards and dual enrollment opportunities.
  • Evaluate and enhance curriculum offerings, including AP and Honors courses, to ensure college readiness.

Student Success & Support:

  • Promote early exposure to college-level coursework beginning in the ninth grade.
  • Develop systems for academic counseling, advising, and support services tailored to Early College students.
  • Work closely with alumni affairs staff to ensure ongoing support for graduates attending college.
  • Monitor and analyze student progress toward earning college credits and/or an associate's degree.

Partnership & Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain partnerships with higher education institutions and local organizations.
  • Collaborate with Career Academy leaders to integrate specialized training with Early College pathways.
  • Engage families and the broader community to promote understanding and support of the Early College program.

Leadership & Management:

  • Supervise Early College program staff, including counselors, academic advisors, and faculty liaisons.
