Friendship Public Charter School operates a dynamic network of college-preparatory charter schools headquartered in Washington, DC. We proudly serve more than 4,800 preschool through 12th-grade students and support a growing network of alumni as they complete college. Our mission is to provide students with a world-class education that fosters ethical, literate, well-rounded, and self-sufficient individuals. We aim to inspire students to reach high academic standards, enjoy the learning process, succeed in their endeavors, and contribute actively to their communities. The Director of Early College will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and daily operations of the Early College program. The Director will ensure high-quality delivery of college-level coursework to high school students, foster strong partnerships with higher education institutions, and promote student success through comprehensive academic and social supports.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Development:

• Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Early College program, aligned with FCA's mission and academic goals.
• Oversee program operations, including course selection, scheduling, enrollment, and assessment.
• Coordinate with college partners to align curriculum standards and dual enrollment opportunities.
• Evaluate and enhance curriculum offerings, including AP and Honors courses, to ensure college readiness.

Student Success & Support:

• Promote early exposure to college-level coursework beginning in the ninth grade.
• Develop systems for academic counseling, advising, and support services tailored to Early College students.
• Work closely with alumni affairs staff to ensure ongoing support for graduates attending college.
• Monitor and analyze student progress toward earning college credits and/or an associate's degree.

Partnership & Collaboration:

• Build and maintain partnerships with higher education institutions and local organizations.
• Collaborate with Career Academy leaders to integrate specialized training with Early College pathways.
• Engage families and the broader community to promote understanding and support of the Early College program.

Leadership & Management:

• Supervise Early College program staff, including counselors, academic advisors, and faculty liaisons.
