Job Description
The Director of HIV Community Engagement is a pivotal role within the US Virology Sales Team, spearheading a community-centric approach crucial to our company's strategic vision. We are in search of a results-driven, forward-thinking leader with exceptional business acumen, adaptability, and a compassionate leadership style. The primary objective of this role is to forge and sustain robust connections with Community Base Organizations (CBO), AIDS Service Organizations (ASO), clinics, and national and local HIV/AIDS advocates, harmonizing the community experience and actively contributing to the organization's strategic imperatives. Moreover, the Director will play a key role in supporting learning activities for Virology field facing roles and collaborating with leaders across the Virology Business Unit to elevate the execution and impact of the Company’s HIV portfolio.
This field-based position covers the entire United States, involving approximately 50% travel, and reports directly to the Executive Director, US Virology Sales.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leading the US Virology Community Liaison (CL) and Regional Training Team to execute our HIV Community Strategy and deliver on our HIV business goals.
Communicates community insights and business performance trends to Sales and Brand Leadership to inform strategy adjustments and foster alignment with key stakeholders.
Collaborates with Virology Sales Directors of Commercial Operations (DCO) field counterparts to align community plans and achieve business objectives.
Collaborates as a thought partner with marketing, field sales, learning and development, and cross-functional teams to drive, evolve, and execute community engagement strategy.
Plays a primary role in representing the company at professional events, fostering strong community relationships, and identifying the needs and opportunities within local HIV ecosystems.
Defines roles, responsibilities, and measurable KPIs for the CL team execution, regularly measuring and providing feedback on performance.
Collects actionable insights for informed decision-making, ensuring proactive and responsive approaches in the dynamic market landscape.
Recruits, hires, and retain top talent to build a high-performing, diverse, and community-focused team.
Collaborates with internal legal and compliance teams to establish alignment of community initiatives with organizational goals and values, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Leads Virology Region Trainers (VRTs) to align learning plans with business objectives and foster collaboration with Learning and Development (L&D).
Ensures sales execution compliance with company policies and code of conduct, promotes accountability within CL and regional training team.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS).
Minimum of 10 years combined experience in Sales and/or Marketing, including 5 years leading teams.
Valid Driver’s License.
Travel the amount of time the role requires - 50%.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong grasp of marketing operations, including strategic development, campaign execution, and P&L comprehension.
High emotional intelligence and cultural diversity appreciation.
Proven change management experience, driving organizational change and operational efficiency.
Exceptional presentation and communication skills for conveying strategic objectives.
Demonstrated territory and business management accomplishments.
Comprehensive understanding of the HIV community, key stakeholders, and treatments.
Familiarity with access and reimbursement influences across US regions, with strong interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
