Director of Software Engineering

Resource Innovations is seeking a hands-on technology leader to join our dynamic, fast-growing clean energy company. As the Director of Software Engineering, you will lead diverse team of software professionals delivering our suite of SaaS products. This is a key role responsible for the design, development, production, and deployment of cloud software products to deliver on product strategy and vision.

This is remote position with some office meetings for candidates residing in San Francisco CA Bay area, or Chicago IL metro areas who will work on a wide range of SaaS products that fundamentally changes how utilities manage business processes and customer initiatives. We are looking for candidates who want to work on things that make an impact on the world and are passionate about product craftsmanship.

Candidates must reside in the San Francisco Bay area or Chicago metro area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of high-quality software products that are aligned with our business and customer goals
• Oversee and manage the development of low code / no code software platform to deliver innovative solutions

• Lead development of technical architecture and deployment to achieve the optimum results, balancing cost and development speed without sacrificing security and quality
• Identify and reduces technical debt for existing products while adding new features and functionality to meet customer expectations
• Drive development and operational plans, and the management of execution against product plans and delivery commitments in an Agile environment.
• Establish and adopt architectural and technology standards, best practices and processes to deliver high quality solutions
• Set software security, quality and operational standards and oversee software development to efficiently deliver solutions
• Recruits and retains talent through mentorship and the identification of professional development
• Collaborates with customers, product managers, and program delivery teams to improve the software products and provide platforms to drive efficiency
• Oversee multiple, high-profile SaaS products and serve as primary technical point of contact for external and internal stakeholders

Requirements

• 15+ years of previous software engineering experience with 10+ years in technical leadership role required
• B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or related field
• Previous hands-on development experience with following technologies:
• Java, Angular, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven
• MySQL, NoSQL Databases, Web Services (REST, SOAP)
• Data Integration framework Apache Camel, JSON, XML and ETL tools

• Strong technical experience developing SaaS Solutions using AWS cloud architecture, systems engineering, virtualization, serverless computing, storage and network,

• Solid experience leading CI/CD, DevOps, SQA, Production and Operations
• Experience leading multiple teams and programs with Agile or SAFe Agile methodology
• Experience managing global engineering teams and technology partners
