A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with designs, plans, and development of clinical evaluation research studies.
  • Assist with preparing and authoring protocols, patient record forms, and other documents.
  • Perform study start-up and conduct activities, including ICF review that meets regulatory requirements, creating study-specific essential document lists, managing and communicating the status of study progress and activities.
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies in study documentation by applying clinical protocol and good clinical practice (GCP) knowledge and develop processes to mitigate reoccurrence throughout study phases.
  • Conduct in-house and site (if applicable) reviews of associated documentation and participate in internal and competent authority audits to ensure all essential clinical Trial Master File (TMF) documents are compliant with Good Documentation Practices, internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), and US and OUS regulations.
  • Communicate and coordinate study activities between the study sponsor, site research coordinators, study investigators, working closely with the Clinical Research Manager, Clinical Trial Manager, and/or Project Coordinators.
  • Oversees and interprets results of clinical investigations in preparation for device or consumer application.
  • Oversees and resolves operational aspects of clinical trials in conjunction with project teams and in accordance with SOP, GCP, and specific country regulations, and may prepare clinical trial budgets.
  • May be responsible for clinical supply operations, site, and vendor selection.
  • Represents Medtronic from a clinical research perspective within the country/region and also collects feedback from local customers and authorities.
  • Builds and maintains optimal relationships and effective collaborations with various internal and external parties.
  • Drives local evidence dissemination & awareness.

Qualifications

Must-Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree

Nice to Have:

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills including proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Computer skills (MS Office products, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
