Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Conway Public School District


Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Obtain (within 6 months) or maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCABA) issued by the Board Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The District will provide guidance on the initial and ongoing certification process as needed
  3. Complete district provided crisis intervention training
  4. Effective written and oral communication skills
  5. Experience with basic curriculum knowledge including mathematics, reading, and writing in a K-12 school environment preferred
  6. Significant experience working with students with problem behaviors including autism preferred

Physical Requirements:
  1. Be able to walk short distances to escort children between classrooms and activities
  2. Be able to sit, stand, lean, reach, bend, lift (<50 lbs.) and kneel to assist students and apply appropriate crisis intervention techniques 
  3. Be able to walk on uneven surfaces (playground)
  4. Be able to walk up and down stairs
  5. Be able to run on uneven surfaces (playground)
  6. Be able to run up and down stairs
  7. Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty 
  8. In district travel required, reliable transportation is needed

Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) and Director of Special Education

Not applicable

Terms of Employment:
The contract length will be 185 days. Salary Schedule N.

Evaluation:
Based on Conway School District  policy and Division of Elementary and Secondary Education guidelines, and performed by the Director of Special Education.

Job Goal:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), under the direct supervision of the Behavior Support Coordinator (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), assists in the implementation of behavior intervention programs and push-in services for students with behavioral needs with a wide variety of age ranges at various sites throughout the district, monitors and collects data on behavior, documents progress, and collaborates with school staff to coach and implem
