The  Associate Vice President (AVP), Data Governance will report to the Senior Vice President (SVP), Data Governance, and play a pivotal role in advancing AINA's Data Governance Framework. This position demands proficiency developing comprehensive business cases for data governance initiatives, designing and implementing metrics and KPIs to measure the benefits realized and managing the delivery of Data Governance technology solutions. The ability to effectively collaborate with other Data Team members and Business stakeholders across the organization is essential. Additionally, the position will require the ability to execute data analysis; profiling; and investigative research regarding a variety of challenging data-related scenarios, as well as lead cross-functional groups targeted to determine effective solutions for these scenarios.  

General Responsibilities 

• Support SVP, Data Governance as needed 

• Help implement and sustain Data Governance across teams. 

• Facilitate a cross-functional working group to tackle data-related challenges, ensuring effective collaboration and communication among members. 

• Support the development of recommendations and align on solutions for presentation to the Data Governance Committee (DGC). 

• Create Data Governance materials, including PPTs. 

• Analyze data to assess the impact of governance efforts and report to senior management and the DGC. 

• Perform data analysis for basic inquiries and investigation as required. 

• Support the Data Team in managing risk by ensuring risk register is up-to-date and reflects any new data governance challenges 

• Collaborate with the Data Team to support overall goals and initiatives set by the team 

Data Governance Technology 

• Act as Data Governance technology SME and resource for Data Stewards. 

• Develop comprehensive business cases for data governance initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI calculations, and strategic alignment with organizational goals. 

• Lead the introduction and implementation of new data governance technologies, including overseeing completion of POC’s and quantifying and tracking the benefits. 

• Collaborate with Data Stewards and other key stakeholders to gather requirements and validate assumptions used in business case development. 

• Collaborate with Data Stewards and other key stakeholders to assess needs, identify gaps and ensure alignment on data governance initiatives. 

• Lead the user acceptance testing and deployment of these technologies. 

• Work closely with the Data Stewardship Manager to develop and deliver training for Data Stewards and other stakeholders in new data governance technologies.
