Manufacturing Engineer

Description

Perform all engineering support for laser including nesting, optimization, and troubleshooting. Support engineering needs of manufacturing. Lead research and development of new products, product improvements, process improvements, and new tools and machinery. Support engineering for safety projects. Support sales with preliminary design consultation. 

• Become proficient in all aspects of the laser 
• Perform all nesting functions to support laser operation 
• Act as primary liaison between manufacturing and engineering 
• Troubleshoot product design issues in manufacturing 
• Lead R&D effort by researching new methods, processes, equipment, and developing prototypes to prove concepts to all stakeholders 
• Support all engineering needs for safety 
• Support sales by performing preliminary design layouts, and interpret customer and regulatory specifications 
• Support engineering department by researching special requirements of design and customer 
• Develop procedures for various departments 
• Self-motivated, open minded, detail-oriented individual 
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Requirements

• Advanced use of Excel, Word and other Microsoft products.
• Background in Lean and 5S priciples
• Strong math skills and ability to perform structural calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Requirements/Degree(s):

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field required (Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Industrial or other related discipline)
