**The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Purchasing and Supplier Management (PSM) Department as a Category Manager.
Responsibilities for the role requires: marketplace analysis, coaching in Category Management strategies, supplier development, relationship management, and contract activities. In the role, you will develop a Retail Category Strategy for around 250 petrol stations, establish procurement processes aligned with forecourt standards, and ensure appropriate contractual terms.
A key aspect of this position will require you to build robust relationships with senior stakeholders, our supply chain, and third parties, which includes: regulatory bodies, government, and subsidiaries. The role will also require mentoring and training staff for personal and professional growth within Essar Oil UK Limited.
Primary Accountabilities:
Category Specialist Delivery and Stakeholder Management
- Implementation and management of a Category Management Programme for the Retail Petrol stations.
- You will be responsible for all risk associated to the Retail portfolio which is critical to the successful delivery of our Retail strategy.
- Management and completion of tenders and our approaches to the market from our Retail business. Ensuring that extensive marketplace knowledge and research is applied.
- Responsible for the management and development of stakeholder relationships within the Retail portfolio
- Responsible for the management of legislative compliance associated to the management and operation of Retail petrol stations.
Cost Efficiency-
- Lead all supply chain continuous improvement initiatives related to the Retail portfolio.
- Responsible for ensuring best value-add proposition for the business and decision making for the associated Category.
Reporting and Compliance-
- Develop and maintain required reports, spend analysis and report value improvements.
- Lead and manage a vehicle compliance process and ensure that the Fleet meets all legal compliance and regulatory checks.
- Ensure that procedures are developed and kept up to date to meet the Retail demand.
Leadership Accountabilities:
- Ability to establish close networks across the site ensuring early engagement and compliance within the Fundamentals of Purchasing.
- Ability to influence the stakeholders associated with spending.

Job Knowledge, Skills, And Experience:
Qualification-
- Essential- Relevant Technical or Business Degree or equivalent experience may be considered.
- Preferred- CIPS Professional Diploma (L6) or working towards.
Experience-
- Proven experience of stakeholder management and how to maintain and develop relationships with both internal and external parties.
- Proven Commercial awareness relating to contract strategy and procurement.
- Proven and significant experience in the procurement of Retail operations including, construction, fit-out and shop operations.
