The Manager Cloud, Compute and Storage manages daily operations in the department and takes for the planning, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of IT systems across the entire organization’s IT infrastructure.
Managing a regional, dispersed team of architects, team leads and IT operations and System engineers, who are motivated, results-focused, and consistently delivers IT solutions in line with scope, budget, risks, outcomes, prioritization, value, and benefits.
Responsible for the evaluation, implementation and on-going operations of the company’s IT infrastructures virtualization platforms, server administration, cloud-based services and software, and related IT Security, ensuring highest levels of availability through redundant design and robust failover processes to deliver uptime service level expectations and zero data loss targets.
Responsible for IT vendor evaluation, conducting enterprise technology proof of concepts, commercial negotiations and contract terms for Infrastructure, related software, hardware, and cloud services. Conducts regular commercial and service reviews with IT Vendors to ensure contractual obligations are being delivered.
Supports Technical IT Audits by Customers or their appointed 3rd parties, including Enterprise Architecture design reviews, licensing audits, security audits, volume testing initiatives with associated compilation of detailed evidence of performance documentation.
Participate, support, and provide recommendations to DP World Group Technology, for longer term strategy and integration. Plan and execute Transformation and Integration projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of IT architects, Systems Engineers, and IT Operations Engineers.
- Develop, communicate, drive and implement standards for servers and other backend infrastructure across all business verticals.
- Plan and assign systems resources to align with business projects and priorities.
- Set team and individual objectives and track them as part of the PMP process.
- Have an excellent technical understanding of all tasks carried out by the team and provide detailed review and approvals as part of IT Processes.
Architecture, Strategy and Planning
- Create the roadmap and future vision of the organization’s infrastructure platforms.
- Use innovation to drive technology and bring the latest available solutions.
- Support Systems Architects to define and implement architecture standards.
- Define and drive systems strategies that align with overall IT and Business Strategies.
- Review ongoing systems capacity and support.
- Deliver growth and product/system renewals.
- Plan and define budgets to align with all Systems Requirements at both a corporate IT Level and a Site Level.
- Lead the delivery of the overall architecture across infrastructure, on-premises and cloud.
Support
- Drive third line support initiatives to reduce support calls across the organization.
- Act as an escalation point for all system issues and drive resolution.
Projects
- Driving both Business and IT Projects to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
- Act as an escalation point for Project Managers to review progress and activities.
- Be able to influence Project Managers and key project resources to ensure requirements are met.
Business Development Support
- Provide feedback and reviews for the IT Infrastructure aspects of new business bids.
- Help define new concept IT solutions and provide costings to support all new business submissions.
- Work with SMEs and stakeholders within the business – strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills.
IT Processes
- Support and drive the following IT Processes within the system engineering team.
- Change Management
- Incident Management
- Problem Management
- IT Purchasing and Adherence to the Matrix of Authority
Contracts and Vendor Management
- Manage all software and Hardware Contracts under the System Team
- Plan and Negotiate contract renewals that align with team strategies and include in budget planning.
- Manage IT Vendors and negotiation of pricing, obtaining standardized global pricing where possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- A combination of equivalent professional training and certifications combined with a minimum of fifteen years related work experience in a position(s) with increasing responsibility and supervisory duties.
