The Job
The Engineering Manager takes on a pivotal role in managing and leading a team responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of evo's data and supply chain systems across North America. This includes systems such as warehouse management and automation, Enterprise data warehousing, and data visualization technologies. Your primary focus will be to work closely with business stakeholders across evo's divisions to align priorities, establish project roadmaps, facilitate clear communication between business owners and engineering, provide estimates, ensure appropriate resourcing, and mitigate any obstacles that may impede progress. Your leadership will ensure your team consistently meets and exceeds expectations.

The Opportunity
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, manage, coach, and develop your team, comprising Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and other professionals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly liaise with stakeholder partners to maintain alignment on priorities, project costs, timelines, risks, support levels, and new developments.
- Roadmap Development: Create and communicate high-level project roadmaps for your team, incorporating input from engineers, architects, Project Managers (PMs), senior leadership, and other business stakeholders.
- Expectation Clarity: Ensure that your team's expectations are transparent to all members and that they have the necessary resources to fulfill them.
- Effective Communication: Provide context and timely feedback to team members and external vendors to foster a sense of purpose, increase team productivity, and strengthen interpersonal connections within your team.
Vendor Relationships:
- Establish and nurture relationships with vendors to supplement team resources, tools, and processes.
- Delivery Optimization: Focus on the timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The Must Haves
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or 7+ years of experience in a software-related role.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing and leading technical teams.
- Must possess demonstrated expertise in managing both software systems and human resources.
- Problem solving and critical thinking are like breathing to you and something you do with a measure of enthusiasm, patience, tenacity, and thoroughness.
- Must be able to carefully prioritize work with business value in mind
- Must be customer service-oriented with the ability to learn quickly, be resourceful/flexible, and exercise sound judgment
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and patience – verbally, in writing and interpersonally to inspire and build trust
- Must be able to calmly handle high pressure situations
